My skin condition is towards the dry and sensitive side.

This is a product that requires some time to see a more clear result. But, after my first few uses, I can say that I enjoy it very much, no less than the expensive products from Lancome, Lamer, or Estee Lauder.

As soon as you apply any of the three products on your skin, you can feel immediate hydration that lasts for hours. However, it does not make you feel greasy or oily. Instead, it feels silky and soft. One thing I’d like to specially mention about the SPF day lotion is that it doesn’t make my skin feel remarkably stingy like the other SPF products that I’ve used. It is a little bit, but very subtle. Again, my skin is on the sensitive side. It does not affect other people the same way. Most people might not even feel it.

I will continue to use it and update everyone on my observation. For a week of use now, I do enjoy the products very much. My 4-star rating comes from not knowing its full effect at this point.

I will continue to say that I enjoy the products and all of the above stay true.

After I apply the cream, it does what Olay has claimed, which is to moisturize my skin and help stay smooth and hydrated for hours to come. It does not feel greasy or uncomfortable at all. It is a lot like Lancome’s many products. The only difference is that Lancome’s smell is very strong and floral, which is partly what makes it cost so much.

The only suggestion I will make is that it would be quite nice if it were easier to be spread out on the face with a bit of fragrant smell that would not hurt.

Good skin does come from many factors, food intake, weather, hormones, genetics, chemical procedure, etc. Products as this do not reduce wrinkles or take away any permanent damanges/changes. That being said, good products do help skin stay hydrated, feel smooth and good, as well as be protected from direct sunlight.

In conclusion, I believe these products are as good as advertised.

After two weeks of using this kit, I’ve noticed an improvement in the smoothness of my skin. Dryness in the under eye area has also lessened somewhat. I have not noticed a reduction in “dark circles” however.

The eye cream is a good base for concealer in the daytime, and a soothing evening treatment. The night cream leaves skin with a silky feel, and it does appear to “brighten” the complexion, at least until you wash it off.

The SPF lotion is blessedly lacking in the nasty odors some sunscreen products have, and is fine for wear under makeup. (Allow to dry thoroughly if you’re using a powder-type foundation.)

Overall, the products are pleasant to use, but they are not inexpensive.

I will have to give them the “bottom of the jar” test before I decide if I would purchase additional kits.

For now, four stars for the noticeably smoother skin, minus one star for the non-brightening of dark circles.

This review is from a guy’s perspective – which might be unique.

In today’s economy, first impressions can be key- male or female. With the use of this product, I found similar results from those I get at a dermo Dr., and better than expensive department store brands.

I found Olay’s system to greatly reduce my problem area’s: the forehead area, and under eye ‘puffy’ problems or circles.

Fine lines were diminished, or eliminated within a week. The eye area looked better with the 1st application! I have found the results to be ongoing.

The product DOES NOT have a scent, which is a huge PLUS.

The products are easy to slip into a gym bag, or just use or share at home – this one is NOT just for the ladies! Trust me! This is a GREAT product!

Some products worked better for me than others, cost/benefit ratio varies by product.

I am one of those unfortunate women with both acne AND wrinkles. I imagine that one day I will be the only one in the nursing home still using Clearasil.

I am going to review each of the product separately as the results were different for me.
I have been using them for about 3 weeks.

    Age repair lotion 4 stars:
This product is a high end sunscreen, as far as I can tell. It specifies that it is not to be used for those under 6 months (so I guess at 7 months you start to need anti aging crème!). It is smoother and less greasy than my typical sunscreen with a pleasant feel on the skin. It does seem to have some after effect, if you forget to apply it for one day your skin still remains moist. I was previously using Lubriderm SPF 15, and the Olay defiantly is a better hydrator. Whether it is worth the cost differential, that is up to you.

    Wrinkle smoothing crème 3 stars:
This crème does help with wrinkles and smoother skin. However, it also caused me to break out more around my nose. It worked well on my neck and the drier areas of my face.

    Eye restoration complex 5 stars:
This was the best of the lot. It helped with the under eye sagging and darkness. By “helped” I mean reduced, but did not eliminate. I have pretty sensitive skin and it did not cause any problems for me. The tube is tiny, but goes a long way. This product I will buy again for myself.

My 4 star rating is the average of the above since I could not rate each by themselves.

Excellent Program by an Excellent Company!

Listen, no matter what anyone says, no one and no thing can turn back the hands of time! That said, there are things one must do to make that slide down that slippery slope a wee bit slower, a bit less painful. Stay out of the sun, wear sunglasses, drink water, wash your face with gentle cleanser and for goodness sake, moisturize! You absolutely must moisturize!

Olay is an excellent manufacturer of moisturizing skin products. Olay is serious about it’s research and not frivolous in it’s stated benefits. It is a company that offers an excellent product for a reasonable price….no frills, luxury packaging, fragrance or pushy sales force. Olay is sold at drug stores not department stores.

If you purchase the Olay Anti-Aging Starter Protocol Pro-X kit you will get three excellent skin care products for less than $65. This is about as good as you are going to get….unless you are going to a dermatologist who will prescribe Retin-A or Renova.

If you use these three Pro-X products you will be using a very good moisturizing night cream, a soothing eye cream and an excellent moiturizing sunblock day cream. You will look better and you will be protecting your skin. Thats what you are going to get.

Olay makes a confusing array of products. I have tried most of them and I have to admit that I find most of them impressive! As good as fancy, department store brands at many times the price.

Is the Pro-X Wrinkle Smoothing Cream in this kit better than Olay’s top-rated Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream? I find the Regenerist line excellent! The Micro-Sculpting Cream is a wonderful moisturizer. After using it my skin is soft and smooth and feels great. I have found almost no difference between the two creams.

Olay also makes the Definity line of anti-aging products. I am a big fan. I find my skin is even and glowing and soft and smooth after using the Deep Penetrating Foaming Moisturizer. Small spots lighten or disappear over time. I also like the Definity Eye Illumiator which not only moisturizes but somehow lightens the undereye area.

So, I have confused you? I am confused myself!

I think that the most important thing is to take care of your skin. You don’t have to spend a fortune in the process. This kit is a good value and the products are excellent and they are formulated to work together. They will not make you younger but they will protect your skin and keep it healthy and attractive at any age. That’s pretty good, isn’t it?

  6. Sheri says:

I tend to use natural skin products but of the commercial brands I do like and use Oil of Olay on occasion.

This is a very nice kit and includes three products, Age Repair Lotion, Eye Restoration Complex and Wrinkle Smoothing Cream, which they say are clinically proven to ‘re-signal skin to perform like it did when it was younger’.

There is a schedule for product use included with the kit, which is to use the Eye Restoration cream both in the morning and at night and to use the Age Repair Lotion in the morning and eh Wrinkle Smoothing Cream at night.

I’ve been using them for three weeks now and I do notice a definite improvement in my skin. It seems softer, smoother and my eyes do look better from the eye cream!

The creams are all unscented. My other favorite face lotion is wonderfully scented but I’ve used some where the scent is terrible so no scent would be my second choice. :-)

A very nice kit, great for aging skin.

After quite a bit of experimenting I had finally settled on Renova as the best anti-aging skin treatment for me. It has been effective and seems to provide the best results. However, it is a bit pricey, I needed a prescription for it, and had to pair it with a moisturizer, sunscreen, and eye cream. So, I was more than happy to give this system a try.
So far so good. I’m certainly enjoying the simplicity of using this anti-aging starter protocol, and my skin is responding well. I’ve not noted any sensitivity at all probably due to my recent use of Renova.
As I recall Allure Magazine did a survey comparing the results of Renova and the results of Olay – they were comparable. So, if after a full month my skin continues to respond as it has in the initial weeks I’ll be happy to switch!

    It clogged my pores!

First of all, I love Olay products. They are really good and come with reasonable price tags. I have tried much more expensive products but keep on coming back to Olay.

The eye cream made my eyes puffy immediately, I am very sensitive and it happened to me before but never with Olay products. Secondly, my pores got badly clogged after just few days of use, to the point that I had to stop using it. Olay Pro-X is not oil free and I always stick to non-comedogenic products, such as Olay Complete. Pro-X also contains parabens (which are not good for you), while Olay Complete is 100% paraben free. The good thing about Pro-X is that it contains niacinamide. However Olay Total Effects 7x also contains niacin and does not clog your pores. The best thing about Pro-X is the high SPF30 protection.

I am not a dermatologist and I don’t know if Pro-X is worth the higher price as compared to other Olay products. I would guess that it’s not. If you don’t have problems with your pores it might work for you. However I will stick to my old favorites.

  9. Laurel says:

    Very nice, a little pricey.

All of the creams are white and unscented. They go on smoothly, are absorbed quickly, and left my skin feeling nice. The night cream is a little thicker and shinier. The daytime cream absorbed without any surface residue; good for under makeup. Most facial moisturizers with strong sunscreen have a strange texture to them, the Olay Pro-X does not.

The big question is: is it doing anything? I’d have to say something is definitely happening, though I’m not certain what. My first use stung a bit, and subsequent uses have on occasion, depending on what I’ve cleansed with prior. After a few days two moles got inflamed. (Which was disturbing!) But then they settled down. After that I started to break out in a few places, something I almost never do. That passed again after another week.

After a month now, what lines I have *feel* shallower to my fingertips, though I don’t know if there’s any difference visible. For reference, I’m 38 and look pretty young for my age. Possibly someone more mature would show more benefit. My skin also looks a little more fair, possibly? Though being in the middle of winter might be having its own effect too.

The eye cream didn’t do anything for the circles under my eyes, but nothing ever has, so probably not a useful test.

Overall, I like the kit a lot, and I’m going to be sad when it runs out. I’m self-employed and work out of my home, so my appearance doesn’t matter enough to justify the cost of buying more. But, if I was concerned about looking youthful, or it mattered to my career, I would definitely keep using it.
